Welchwoods Custom Cabinetry also has the tools and capability to completely restore your antique wooden boat. The boat shown here is a 1966 Thompson Sea Coaster with a 1966 65 hp Mercury outboard. In its original condition, the boat needed a complete restoration due to rotting frames, inner keelson, stringers, keel, rub rails, transom and decks.

Another goal of this project was to replace all of the vinyl on the boat with solid African Mahogany. Here is a running list of what was required to completely restore the 1966 Thompson.

new splash rail
new 3/8” planked deck fore and aft
new rub rail
new splash rail
new 1/2” round trim
new 1/2" flooring with Nautolex covering
new dash
new seat boxes
new upholstered seats
re-glued and doweled window frames
new window gaskets
8 coats of paint
10 coats of varnish inside and out
new engine paint
new wiring
